Highly Recommended - Best of the day
It is not in the nature of we Map Ramblers to boast, so let us just say that we are very grateful to Time Out (London's leading listing magazine) for giving us two thumbs up: "Highly recommended" on Time Out on-line, and "Best of the Day" in the print magazine (25 April - 1 May, 2007).
Participants in the Map Ramble from the Geffrye Museum on the 28 April seem to agree: excellent, fun and informative were the words they felt best described the Map Ramble, and they have clamoured for another Map Ramble that they can join. So check your diaries now, as we can confirm that the next Map Ramble will take place on Saturday 14 July - who know is might even have a French theme. Venue for the start and finish are yet to be confirmed - subscribe to our Map Ramble blog to keep up to date or Email: Map Rambles to register.
We plan to post images and comment from the Geffrye Museum Ramble - we are also trying our hand at scanning some of the maps that were created (it is the mapping that makes Map Rambles unique) to post them on the blog as well.

Map Rambling - make your mark
Please join us for a Map Ramble that begins and ends at the Geffrye Museum, on Kingsland Road, London E2 8EA on Saturday 28 April 2007. Join us on a voyage of discovery.
Map Rambles are self-guided walks that incorporate themes inspired by events and exhibitions, in which participants explore areas and come together to discuss and map their experiences.
We’ve mapped an itinerary for the Ramble to entice you to join us:
10.00am The Museum opens (free entry) - Visit the exhibitions “At home in London” or “Home and Garden 1914-1960”, find out more from the museum's website
At the exhibition, mingle with fellow ramblers (you can identify them as they will be wearing a badge similar to the one that you will receive when you register), share thoughts, ideas and reactions to the exhibits.
11.00am Map ramble start – join fellow Map Ramblers at the Geffrye Museum Restaurant and Café - choose a themed Map guide, collect a sketch book, and set out in small groups, on a Ramble around the local streets, to collect your ideas.
Within walking distance are the streets of South Shoreditch with their heritage of furniture making, vibrant Brick Lane leading to Spitalfields, the intriguing neighbourhoods of Hoxton and Haggerston, linked by the Regent’s canal.
1.30pm reconvene at the restaurant at the Geffrye Museum, for a chance to share your discoveries with fellow Map Ramblers, including comparing and mapping your routes.
Afterwards, contribute your findings (sketches, photographs or recordings - please note we don’t provide equipment) here at the Map Ramble web log.

Fried eggs
My maprambling task was to 'rename the streets'. My first thought on discovering the wall of fried eggs was that perhaps it didn't have to be an alphabetical renaming but maybe a collection of pictures unique to the site.
